Texas Recycles Day
Texas Recycles Day is an annual event held by the City of Plano’s Sustainability & Environmental Education division. This event allows attendees to drive through, drop off and donate specific household items to local organizations for reuse or recycling, keeping these items out of the landfill.
Texas Recycles Day is being held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 8:30 am to noon in the Chase Oaks Church parking lot, located at 281 Legacy Drive
Examples of accepted items include:
- Bicycles – any size, any condition
- Eyeglasses/sunglasses – any condition, glasses cases cannot be accepted
- Hearing aids – any condition
- Yarn – four medium/worsted weight, acrylic
- Sporting goods – except for treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, weight plates, bars and benches which cannot be accepted
- Electronics – fees may apply, cash only
- Free on-site paper shredding – two standard file-sized boxes of paper maximum
