Turn your passion into purpose by volunteering with the City of Plano’s Sustainability division. Make a difference in the Plano community by volunteering for impactful opportunities related to sustainability.
What We Do
Outreach & Education
Volunteers can assist Sustainability staff with providing environmental education and outreach throughout the Plano community. This includes assisting with information tables, mobile van outreach, eco fairs and more.
Special Events
Volunteers assist with preparations prior to the event, as well as with a variety of roles at the actual event. Special events offered by the Sustainability division include Great American Cleanup, Wonders of Wildlife, WaterWise Landscape Tour, Texas Recycles Day and more.
Litter Cleanups
Volunteers help keep Plano clean and green by participating in litter cleanups. This opportunity is offered year-round, offers flexibility and is suitable for all ages. Registration for cleanups is managed outside the Portal. Learn more on the Community Litter Cleanups webpage.
Storm Drain Labeling
Volunteers help protect Plano’s waterways and prevent pollution by placing a marker on Plano’s storm drains. This opportunity is offered year-round, is flexible and is suitable for all ages. Adults
If you already have an account in the Portal, make sure you have relevant Interests and Causes selected for your profile (i.e. Gardening, Sustainability and Environment). This ensures you receive information and invites for these types of opportunities.
If you don't have an account, click Sign Up to create one. As part of account creation, you'll be asked to select Interests and Causes for your account.
Teens 16+
If you don't have an account, click Sign Up and select the "I'm a Teen (13-17)" application track to create one. As part of account creation, you'll be asked which programs you're interested in. Make sure to check the box for Sustainability Division.
