Spend 12 Weeks with the Citizens Police Academy  

Enrollment in the Plano Citizens Police Academy (CPA) begins on Monday, July 7 for the 2025 fall session. Sponsored by the Plano Police Department, CPA is your chance to learn how these first responders serve our City so well. Applicants must commit to attend Academy classes for 12 weeks, August 28 through November 20.  

Citizens will meet at the Plano/Richardson Police Training Center on Thursdays to learn about burglary investigations, tactical driving, K-9 policing, firearm safety, crime prevention and more. Space is limited.

Applicants must:  

• Be over 18 and out of high school
• Have a Texas driver's license and agree to a background check
