What We Do
PLANO CITIZENS FIRE ACADEMY
Designed for adults to learn more about how Plano Fire-Rescue is organized and operates, the Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) is open to persons 18 and older who either live or work in the City of Plano. The EIGHT-WEEK class meets one night a week at the Fire Administration building on Avenue K (1901 K Ave).
Each night, CFA participants learn about a different aspect of Plano-Fire Rescue, ranging from emergency medical services to hiring and training firefighters to special rescue operations. During the eight weeks of class, CFA participants also spend time at fire stations and riding on the engines to emergency calls. This is NOT a certification course.
