Who We Are
Neighbors Helping Neighbors provides volunteers with opportunities to serve Plano residents.
What We Do
Plano CARES (Code Abatement by Residents Engaged in Service) connects local volunteers to residents in need of assistance with common property code violations. Those who are unable to correct violations because of physical or financial hardship may find assistance through Plano CARES. Eligible violations may include:
- Accessory building removal/repair
- Damaged fence removal/repair
- Minimal tree trimming
- Minor exterior home repair
- Trash removal
The Love Where You Live program partners with neighborhoods to enhance their community, connecting City staff and volunteers to help with:
- Minor exterior home repair and landscaping
- Community-wide cleanups
- Education workshops based on resident needs
- Neighborhood block parties and movie nights
- Matching available resources and services with the needs of the residents
Neighborhood Ambassadors are volunteers who assist the City of Plano Neighborhood Services Department with community outreach, resident engagement and other program awareness initiatives.
Homeless Outreach provides volunteer opportunities to serve our unhoused neighbors.
