Upcoming Login Changes
You will soon see changes to the Volunteer Portal login process. Get Connected by Galaxy Digital - the software used for the Portal - is implementing Global Profile, a new login process for all volunteer sites using the software. This update will go live on February 16th.
After the rollout, the login page will look different. The Volunteer Portal's Login button will automatically take you to the Global Profile login page (shown below). Once you have logged in, you'll be redirected back to our Volunteer Portal.

Your First Login
The first time you log in after Global Profile goes live, you will be required to verify your email address and update your password to meet new requirements.
1. Email Verification
When you first log in, you'll need to verify your email address. A verification code will be sent from [email protected]. If you do not see it right away, search your spam and junk folders.
2. Password Reset
After verifying your email, you'll be prompted to update your password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include:
- An uppercase letter
- A lowercase letter
- A number
- A symbol/special character (i.e. ! @ # & * " < , > / ? ~)
- A minimum of 8 characters
3. Login with Your New Password
After resetting your password, you'll be prompted to enter your email and new password to login. You'll then be directed to your Volunteer Portal homepage.
How to Prepare for Global Profile
The best way to prepare is to review the email address we currently have on file, update it if needed and ensure it can receive messages.
Review Your Email Address
Your email on file is used to log in to your account. It's also where important communications such as forgot password emails, shift reminders and other notices are sent. It's essential that the current email address on file is active and accessible. Please update your email address if any of the following are true:
- You used a fake email when registering
- You no longer have access to the email (i.e. it's a work email from a previous job or you are locked out of that account)
- You prefer to use a different email
For teens: If your parent's email address is the one registered on your account, you may want to consider updating it. If you prefer not to, make sure that your parent is available during your initial login after Global Profile goes live to help with the email verification process.
For individuals with Plano ISD emails: We are aware of ongoing issues with PISD student email accounts being unable to receive external emails due to security filters set by the school district. If you are using a PISD email, we suggest changing it to a personal email. Please note, we cannot see the verification codes sent and cannot bypass verification for you. If your school or work email address has strict filtering, you will not be able to verify your account.
For people who volunteer with other nonprofits using Get Connected by Galaxy Digital: If you volunteer at another nonprofit using Get Connected, check to make sure you have the same email on both accounts. This allows you to have a unified login for all sites.
Ensure You Can Receive Emails
Check Your Storage Capacity: A common reason for bounced email is a full inbox. If your email reached its storage limit, you won't receive any new emails. Follow your email service provider's instructions/suggestions for clearing out your inbox.
Check Your Junk/Spam Folders: Automated emails are often filtered to junk or spam folders. You can address this proactively by adding the [email protected] and [email protected] to your contacts list.
How to Update Your Email Address Before Global Profile
If you need to change your registered email before Global Profile goes live, follow these instructions:
- Click your profile image or initials in the top-right corner
- Select Edit Profile from the dropdown menu
- Locate your email address and change the field to reflect your preferred email
- Scroll down and click the Update button to save your changes
Ongoing Impact
The introduction of Global Profile will change how account management work and how VIP Staff can assist with certain account features. Starting February 16th, VIP Staff cannot update your password, first or last name, email address or profile photo.
These pieces of information are now linked to your Global Profile and can only be updated by you. After February 16th, you can make changes to your Global Profile by:
- Log in to your VIP Volunteer Portal account
- Click your profile image or initials in the top-right corner
- Select Edit Profile from the dropdown menu
- Click Update My Account to access your Global Profile dashboard
- Once logged into your Global Profile, select Profile, update any necessary information and click Save

Forgotten Passwords
If you cannot log in to your account, you must use the Forget Your Password? option on the login page. Password reset emails will be sent from [email protected]. VIP Staff cannot provide a temporary password or reset it for you.
Incorrect Name on Account
If you need to update your name, you must do so through your Global Profile. Make sure the name on the account is for the volunteer not a parent or guardian.
For consistency, we ask that your name be formatted with the first letter of each word capitalized and all other letters lowercase.
If you use a preferred, middle or nickname, you can add it in paratheses after your legal first name. Your first and last name are printed on schedules/sign-in sheets, so it's great for a nickname to be directly listed in that field.

Updating Email Address
If you need to update your email, you must do so through your Global Profile. After February 16th, VIP Staff can not update this for you.
If you cannot access your Global Profile and need to update your email, please email [email protected] and we will submit a help ticket for you.
